A self-professed scribe of 'movies in his mind', Stanley Laine's stories are always character driven, often allegorical, typically championing the underdog in their attempt to overcome psychological and societal struggles.
To date, Laine has written thirteen novels including five installments in the Philippa K. Dick mystery series. Additionally, he has released a compilation of short works, prose and poetry. Based on real locations, his settings are usually as important to the storyline as the characters themselves.
A moderately reclusive person, Laine describes himself as a nostalgic fictionist, antiquarian, shantyboat dreamer and lighthouse keeper wannabe. When not writing, Laine enjoys dabbling in acrylic painting and pictorialism.
